Because PCTs receive advanced training, they are equipped to handle a wider scope of responsibilities. For example, under the direct supervision of physicians and registered nurses, PCTs may manage specific clinical tasks and medication-related care. This comprehensive PCT course combines Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Electrocardiography (EKG), and Phlebotomy (PHL) training. This program spans 8 weeks for weekday classes (4 days a week) or 12 weeks for weekend classes.
